ILOILO CITY: City Councilor Plaridel Nava, chairman of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) committee on transportation is asking his colleagues at the city council to give his own version of the perimeter boundary ordinance a chance in a move to put sanity to the city’s worst traffic situation. Filing his 2013 Comprehensive Perimeter Boundary Ordinance for first reading in last SP session, Nava said he is scheduling public consultations and hearings on Monday, August 12 for the transport sector with different transport organizations in the city and province who are interested to ventilate their views, and on Tuesday, August 13 for government agencies and business groups to participate in the discussions. City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog, on the other hand, said he is supporting the move of Nava if this is the answer to the problem on traffic and transportation in the city.
