CL FARMERS GET CROP INSURANCE HELP

The Department of Agriculture (DA) regional office here will assist farmers in Central Luzon who might be affected by severe crop damage during rainy season. Andrew Villacorta, DA regional director, said the agency has allotted some P30-million worth of crop insurance for the coverage of 62,000 hectares of flood risk farmlands in the region. “We have already forwarded to the Philippine Crop Insurance Corp. the P30-million fund and only awaiting from the municipal agriculturists the masterlist of farmers covered by the insurance,” Villacorta said.
