Filipino-American Jordan Clarkson, point guard of the National Basketball Association Los Angeles Lakers, will be arriving in Manila today for a series of basketball clinics with Filipino young basketball players.
Clarkson, whose mother Annette, is a Filipina born in Angeles, Pampanga, will also be invited to join Gilas Pilipinas as an observer in their practices here, and thereafter in Taipei later this month for the William Jones Cup Invitational.
Clarkson shall likewise be involved in clinics with the youth while in Manila.
The rising Lakers star was in Manila in May on a three-day promotional tour with several other NBA players.
“As a proud Fil-Am, I look forward to my upcoming visit to the Philippines. The Pinoy fans have been very supportive of me all year long, and I can’t wait to thank them in person,” Clarkson said on the eve of his first visit to the country three months ago.
The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) announced that Clarkson has signed an agreement with a telecommunication company.
The SBP also said that Clarkson has signified his desire to be part of the Gilas Pilipinas national team.
