Classes from preschool to high school were suspended Friday in Zamboanga City due to bad weather following the announcement of Zamboanga City Mayor Isabelle Climaco-Salazar.
In the collegiate level, the city government has left the cancellation of classes to the “discretion of school officials due to exams.”
In Iloilo City, Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog announced early Friday morning the suspension of classes in all levels both in public and private in the city due to prevailing bad weather and flooding.
Since Thursday, heavy continuous rainfall has been affecting the city causing flooding in the downtown area and other parts of the Iloilo City that compelled Mayor Mabilog in coordination with Department of Education (DepED) to cancel classes.
Meanwhile, the other towns in Iloilo province that also made an early announcement of the suspension of classes are Alimodian, Oton, Tigbauan, Barotac Viejo, Sta. Barbara, Pototan and Pavia because of heavy rains. PNA
