Classes in public elementary and high schools will start on June 1, 2015 and end on April 1, 2016.
The school calendar issued by the Department of Education (DepEd) showed that there will be 201 school days for school year 2015-2016
Education Secretary Armin Luistro, through a DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2015, ordered the heads of public and private elementary and high school nationwide to follow the school calendar.
This year’s Palarong Pambansa will be held on May 4 to 10. A National Schools Maintenance Week or Brigada Eskwela will be held on May 18 to 23. Oplan Balik Eskwela will be from May 27 to 31.
The first-quarter exams will be on August 6-7, while the National Career Assessment Examination (NCAE) for K-to-12 Grade 9 will be held August 26.
In October, the second quarter exams will be held on October 15 and 16. A mid-year assessment and INSET and semestral break will be from October 26 to 30.
The Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT) for Luzon will be held November 15, while the PEPT for Visayas and Mindanao has been scheduled on November 22.
Christmas break will start on December 19, and classes will resume on January 4. The third quarter exams are scheduled on January 7 and 8.
