Classes have been suspended on Wednesday in Metro Manila as early as 6 a.m. due to heavy downpour brought by typhoon-enhanced southwest monsoon.
Local governments of Manila, Quezon City, Mandaluyong City, Pateros City, Caloocan City, Pasig City, Makati City, Paranaque City and Valenzuela have announced their respective suspension of classes.
Several streets in Metro Manila remain underwater, particularly Espana Blvd. in Sampaloc, Manila and many parts Malabon.
The Department of Education on Tuesday said local government units and school authorities have the discretion to suspend classes because they are in a better position to assess their respective areas of concern.
