Cloudy, rainy SONA day

 It will be a cloudy and occasionally rainy day in Metro Manila Monday, when President Benigno Aquino 3rd delivers his final State of the Nation Address (SONA).

According to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather forecaster Gladys Saludes, there is 50 to 60 percent chance of rain due localized thunderstorms. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorm rains are expected to prevail in Metro Manila today.
This afternoon, Aquino is set to deliver his last SONA before a joint session of Congress at the Batasan Complex in Quezon City.
Top government officials, members of the diplomatic corps and other VIPs are expected to attend the event.
Thousands of protesters are expected to hold mass actions in front of the Ever Gotesco Mall in Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City.
Around 10,000 government security forces were deployed for the occasion under a joint task force by the Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
PAGASA said a Ridge of High Pressure Area (HPA) affecting Northern Luzon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms over the whole country.
Light to moderate winds blowing from the east to southeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas.
The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate. PNA
