The weather bureau said on Friday that on the first day of July, cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms will prevail over Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula as well as in Central and Western Visayas. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms will also occur over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. Light to moderate winds coming from the southwest to south will prevail over Luzon and coming from the southwest to west over rest of the country. An inter-tropical convergence zone (ITCZ) has been formed near the areas of Mindanao. Pagasa said the ITCZ may bring rain showers this weekend especially in the afternoon or evening. Areas in Visayas are likely to have fair weather on Saturday and coastal waters nationwide will be slight to moderate. The bureau also said one to two tropical cyclones are likely to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility in the month of July that could land in Eastern Visayas or Central Luzon.
