The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Friday said that a total of 9,291 passengers from different ports in Bicol, Visayas, and Mindanao have been stranded due to bad weather condition prevailing in that part of the country.
In particular, the stranded passengers were from Cebu, Maasin, Masbate, Sorsogon, Camarines Sur, and Surigao.
The PCG has temporarily suspended sea travel in some parts of the archipelago due to big waves and strong winds brought about by the low pressure area (LPA) which developed to Tropical Depression “Agaton,” the first storm that hit the country this year.
“Agaton” was spotted 150 kilometers northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur as of 12 p.m. Friday. PNA
