• Comedian’s teen grandson seriously hurt in shooting incident in Marikina City


    THE grandson of popular comedy actor and impersonator Willie Nepomuceno was shot and seriously wounded by unknown gunmen early dawn on Thursday outside a computer shop in Marikina City, police reports said.

    Reports reaching the Philippine National Police (PNP) National Operations Center in Camp Crame identified the victim as Sean Gabriel Nepomuceno, 16, and a residentof Marikina Heights.

    Reports added that the shooting incident occurred at about 2:45 a.m. on Thursday at the corner of a Bugallon St. inside Marikina Heights.

    Initial police investigation revealed that the victim had just come out from a computer shop along with some friends when four men, on board a vehicle, confronted them. In the middle of the confrontation, the gunmen fired several shots hitting Nepomuceno and one of his companions, police said.

    The victims were both rushed to Amang Rodriguez Memorial Hospital for treatment.

    Hours before the shooting incident, a brawl between two groups of young men had taken place near where the shooting occurred, police said. ANTHONY VARGAS
