The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday announced the arrest of 518 persons for violating the firearms ban.

In a text message to Philippines News Agency (PNA), Senior Supt. Wilben Mayor, PNP spokesman, said that as of 7:04 a.m. Friday, 518 persons, mostly civilians, have been apprehended since the implementation of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) gun ban since September 27.
