The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in General Santos City has seven percent more registered voters or at least 238, 697 voters for the 2016 elections
Lawyer April Mitchor, elections registrar in General Santos City, said their office is now completing the biometrics registration.
She said that old voters who have no biometrics must undergo a revalidation process in order to vote next year.
“This is what we are now currently doing, the process of registration, and we have information dissemination and we furnished all 26 barangays as early last year 2015 with the list of voters who have no biometrics and we are still presently sending individual notices to remind them of their incomplete data,” she added.
Mitchor said satellite registration is also ongoing for wider coverage and for the convenience of the registering voters.
The Comelec GenSan also scheduled to conduct satellite registration of voters for the whole month of September at various malls and will accept registration and revalidation until October 31 this year.
