Comelec to disenfranchise 8,571 voters without biometrics in Iloilo City


ILOILO CITY: The Commission on Elections (Comelec) may disenfranchise the voting rights of 8,571 active but old registered voters in this city who do not have the mandated biometrics data. Thus barring their participation in the May 2016 national and local elections. City Comelec City Supervisor Reinier Layson also reminded old and prospective voters to register before the deadline on October 31 as the Comelec will not approve any extension. The city has a total of 246,171 registered voters and those without biometrics will be de-listed.
