Comment on Palace plea, DAP critics told

The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered three petitioners in the controversial Dis-bursement Acceleration Program (DAP) case to give their explanations on a motion for reconsideration filed by Malacañang.

A four-page resolution of the SC mandated the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption, former Iloilo Rep. Augusto Syjuco Jr. and Manuelito Luna to present their arguments on the matter.

The resolution was signed and promulgated by Enriqueta Vidal, Clerk of Court of the en banc.

The SC wanted to know if the three petitioners sought to adopt the comments filed by other petitioners in the case who had filed their opposition to the appeal made by Malacañang.

Its justices had voted unanimously in declaring Department of Budget and Management Circular 541, giving life to the DAP, illegal and unconstitutional.

This caused Malacanang to file the motion for reconsideration, praying for the reversal of the 13-0 SC decision.
