• Cop killed by typhoon-triggered mudslide in Pampanga


    A police officer was killed early dawn Saturday after a mudslide smashed their patrol base in a remote village in Magalang, Pampanga in the midst of heavy rains brought by Typhoon “Santi.”

    The police officer was identified as PO1 Crisencio Bueno, detailed with the 1st Maneuver Company of the Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB).

    Bueno was killed when a police patrol base at Barangay Ayala, Magalang town, was hit by water and mud cascading from Mt. Arayat.

    Policemen at the base were securing their equipment and belongings to a safer place at the time.

    The mudflow drag Bueno down to a creek where his body was retrieved by his colleagues two hours later.
