LEGASPI CITY: Chief Supt. Marlon Tejada, regional director of the Philippine National Police- Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) in the Bicol region, has implicated three cops as protecting drug lords in Naga City, that resulted to a bungled anti-illegal drug operation early this month where a big-time drug suspect eluded arrest. Naga City Police Direct Supt. Allan Ramos also demanded for the immediate identification of the three cops. Armed with a search and arrest warrant from a court, the joint operation of the PNP-CIDG was conducted at Sitio Sagrada, Barangay Penafrancia in Naga City on July 2 but failed to capture the big-time drug suspect identified by police only as “Tagalog.” During the operation, 13 drug suspects were arrested while sachets believed to be containing illegal drugs were seized. Tejada said cell phones confiscated from the arrested group showed they were in contact with three cops assigned to the Penafrancia Police Station.
