• Cordillera LGUs rank in competitiveness index list

BAGUIO CITY: The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), in partnership with the Department of Interior and Local Government recently recognized 14 local government units (LGU) in the region for ranking in the 2014 National Competitiveness Council’s (NCC) Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI). DTI Regional Director Myrna Pablo said the NCC’s CMCI is a framework that aims to link the country to the global and Association of Southeast Asian Nations competitiveness rankings where LGUs are assessed in terms of economic dynamism, government efficiency, and infrastructure. She said Baguio City ranked 15th among the 136 cities assessed. This is a big leap from its rank (66th) in the 2013 CMCI.
