Cordillera police nab 3 Acetylene Gang members


Camp Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet: The Police Regional Office in Cordillera arrested three members of the notorious bolt cutter/acetylene gang early Sunday morning. In another operation, police also nabbed two of the most wanted persons on the municipal level and 12 others for committing various criminal offenses in the Cordillera region during the first week of the month.

During separate operations in the Mount Province and Metro Manila, Requinio Dacmeg Jr. a.k.a “Ricky,” 36, a native of Sagada, Mount Province was the first to fall in the hands of Sagada Police on the New Year’s Day while recuperating from a gunshot wound at the Saint Theodore Hospital in Sagada. He is wanted for the crime of robbery and illegal Possession of Firearms. After a week, Randy Pelkeng, 37, and James Yayak, 44, both from La Trinidad, Benguet were also arrested at the El Pacofoco Pension House in Santa Cruz, Manila for the crime of robbery. They were all recognized as members of the Acetylene Gang based in Baguio City but operating nationwide targeting pawnshop and jewelry stores.

Meanwhile, in the municipality of Tuba, Benguet, the No. 4 most wanted person known as Jeffrey Gontic Liwliwen, 40, laborer, and a resident of Tuba, Benguet was arrested for the crime of homicide..

In the municipality of Itogon, the listed No. 9 most wanted person identified as Chito Habiling Ballogan, 31 year old, private miner, a native of Hingyon, Ifugao and a resident of Balacbac, Baguio City was arrested for direct assault with a recommended bail of P12,000.

Six wanted persons for estafa case committed in the different parts of the region were nabbed identified as Rosemarie Bugtong Bugnosen, 49, who was collared in her residence at Kesbeng, Poblacion, La Trinidad, Benguet; Danilo Catalma Caracas Jr., 55, a native of Alaminos City, Panga–sinan and Jovita Gallardo, 36, a native of Bayambang, Pangasinan, both residing at Bayabas, Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet were arrested at the Public Market, Baguio City. Josephine Licuasen Villamor, 29, service crew, a resident of Central, Buyagan, La Trinidad, Benguet arrested at Upper Nagawa, Ampu–cao, Itogon, Benguet. All arrested person has a respective recommended bailbond.

Another set of six wanted persons were also arrested. First to fall was a minor who is a resident of Quezon Hill was arrested in Pinsao Proper, Baguio City for violation of Republic Act 6539 (Anti-Carnapping Act) with a recommended bail bond of P180,000 followed by Mark Labanen Galinato, 23, a resident of North Poblacion, San Juan, Abra who was arrested at Barangay Guimba, San Juan, Abra for the crime of robbery. Roger Pasag arrested at Camp 8, Kennon Road, Baguio City, for Syndicated large scale illegal recruitment; Joseph Lorenzo Inso, 27, a miner, arrested in his resident at Busok, Atok, Benguet for Slight Physical Injuries with a recommended bail bond of P3,000; Ricky Lawingan Alangsab, a resident of San Carlos Heights, Baguio City who was nabbed along Legarda Road, Baguio City for violation of PD 1866 (Illegal Possession of Firearms). Last was Jovencio Micua Jr, 32, a resident of Military Cut-Off Baguio City who’s warrant was served at the Baguio City Jail, for two counts of theft.
