LA TRINIDAD, Benguet: All towns in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) were given brand new patrol jeeps by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) to enhance the police mobility in their peace and order campaigns. DILG Secretary Mel Senen Sarmiento led the distribution of Mahindra Enforcer 4×2 patrol jeeps to the mayors and chiefs of police during the turnover ceremony at the Police Regional Office – Cordillera in Camp Bado Dangwa here. The 75 units of patrol jeeps are part of the 1,470 patrol jeeps that the DILG is giving to all municipal police stations in the country. The program is also aimed to intensify the Philippine National Police (PNP)’s operations against insurgencies and natural calamities. PNP Directorate for Logistics PDG Juanito Vano said that with the strong support of the national government and other allies in the public service, the PNP continue to meet the challenges of the police work with the enhancement of the capabilities, in mobility, fire power, communications and investigation.
