BAGUIO CITY: The Cordillera Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (Cdrrmc) on Friday has cautioned the public from going to the different spelunking and hiking sites in the region over threat of landslide and flashfloods.
Andrew Alex Uy said the municipality of Bokod, Benguet already cancelled all hiking activities at Mount Purgatory and Mount Pulag until Sunday.
Sagada also cancelled all visits to the Lumiang and Sumaguing caves as of 12 noon on Friday because of non-stop heavy rains.
He said this is a preventive measure as heavy rains are experienced in most parts of the Cordillera.
The Department of Public Works and Highways Cordillera also announced that Kennon Road is open to traffic. However, for safety purposes, motorists are advised to take the Marcos Highway Route or the Naguillian highway.
The following are closed to traffic: Tabuk-Banaue Road (Dumanay Section in Tanudan) for clearing operations; Junction Talubin-Barlig-Natonin-Paracelis-Calaccad Road for repair of eroded approach at Balabag Temporary Bridge, Talubin Side.
