Corteza emerges No. 2 in 2013 billiards rankings

Veteran cue master Lee Van Corteza is No. 2 in the World Pool-Billiard Association rankings for the 2013 season.

Corteza grabbed a total of 1,739 points for winning the China Open 2013 (600 points), placinåg ninth in the World 9-Ball Championships (449 points), second in the US 9-Ball Championships (330 points), 17th in the Ultimate 10-Ball Championships ß(190 points), and fifth in the 2010 All Japan Men’s Championships (170 points).

German Thorsten Hohmann, who ruled the World 9-Ball Championships, took the top spot with 1,930 points.

Filipino Carlo Biado is in third with 1,446 points followed by Karl Boyes of Great Britain (1,411), Mika Immonen of Finland (1,215), Nick Ekonomo—poulos of Greece (1,180), Darren Appleton of Great Britain (1,088), Chris Melling of Great Britain (1,050), Shane Van Boening of US (1,040) and Ko Pin-Yi of Taiwan (1,007).


Dennis Orcollo wound up 12th (962) while Antonio Gabica is in 14th (920), Alex Pagulayan in 15th  (792), Jeffrey de Luna in 23rd (671), Efren Reyes in 32md (482), Ramil Gallego in 49th (388), Johann Chua in 50th (383) and Francisco Bustamante in 56th (360).

  1. It looks like my idol Efren Bata Reyes has fallen below the rankings. But I don’t believe he is over the hill yet. He’s still my idol no matter what.
