Eight people, including two minors, were injured in separate explosions in Cotabato City and Kabacan town of North Cotabato on Saturday evening.
The first attack was recorded around 6:30 pm near the public market of Kabacan town, North Cotabato.
North Cotabato provincial police spokesperson Supt. Bernard Tayong said two men onboard a motorcycle lobbed a hand grenade at Malvar Streets resulting to the injury of five people.
Tayong identified the victims as Berlie Baluyot, Rosalie Parenas, Gerardo Moya and the two minors aged 13 and 17.
Hours after the explosion, another explosion rocked at busy street of Sinsuat Avenue in Cotabato City when Special Forces were on their way to their detachment in Tamontaka.
Injured were identified as Cpl. Noel Ganab and Private First Class Romer De Guzman and a bystander.
Investigators said based on initial findings, an M-203 grenade launcher was used in the attack.
Authorities are still determining the motives and suspects for the attacks.
No individuals or groups have claimed responsibilities of the attacks.
