• Cotabato consultant, wife dead in ambush

COTABATO CITY, Maguindanao: A senior consultant to the Cotabato City government and his wife failed to reach the observance of All Saints Day after they were killed in an ambush on Saturday night in Datu Odin Sinsuat town in Maguindanao.

The victims, Jorge Bosque, retired personnel officer of the Cotabato City government, and his wife, Malou, were on their way home riding a car together when a gunman, armed with a 9mm pistol, shot them at close range hitting them both in different parts of their bodies.

Bosque was chief of the Cotabato City local government unit public employment office at the time she was killed.

Her slain husband, though retired already from government service two years ago, had continued working as special adviser on human resources management to Mayor Japal Guiani Jr. of Cotabato City.

Chief Inspector Lendsy Sinsuat of the Datu Odin municipal police said investigators are yet to establish the identity of the suspect and the real motive of the fatal ambush.

The couple was ambushed at the main road of the SPDA (Southern Philippines Development Authority) Village northwest of Datu Odin Sinsuat, just very near the military training compound of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division.
