    Wangs Basketball capitalized on a strong start to pull off a 110-85 victory against AMA Online Education in the 2017 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) D-League Foundation Cup on Tuesday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

    Robert Herndon carried the Couriers to their fifth win in eight games with a double-double performance of 23 markers and 13 rebounds.

    John Ambuludto, Michael Vincent Juico, and John Montemayor each had 12 markers for Wangs.

    Jason Riley Jr. added 11 points and six assists while Christopher Bitoon chipped in 10 markers and four boards for the Couriers.

    “Our defense really worked today. Credit to my players who really did their best to win this game,” said Wangs coach Pablo Lucas.

    Wangs pulled way early after erecting a 20-11 lead before establishing a 49-38 lead entering the break.

    The Titans were able to trim down the gap to six, 46-52, early in the third period but the Couriers continued with their onslaught and pushed their lead back to 98-69 with 3:47 left in the game.

    The Couriers never looked back since then.

    Renzo Subido topscored for AMA Online with 35 points, eight assists and two rebounds in a losing effort.

    Mario Bonleon had 11 markers and three rebounds for the Titans, whose record dropped to 1-6.
