A MANDALUYONG court on Thursday ordered the arrest of eight policemen linked to an extortion attempt on a motorist last year.
Judge Carlos Valenzuela of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 213 issued a warrant for the arrest of the law enforcers who were charged with kidnapping and serious illegal detention. The policemen are also facing charges of brigandage or highway robbery.
Ordered arrested were Senior Inspectors Oliver Villanueva, Marco Polo Estreba, Chief Inspector Allan Dolores Emilano, Senior Police Officer 1 Ramil Hachero, Police Officers 2 Weavin Masa, Jerome Datinguinoo, Eronn Decatora and Mark de Paz.
Meanwhile, the court reset the arraignment of Chief Inspector Joseph de Vera and Police Officers 2 Jonathan Rodriguez on August to resolve a pending petition before the Department of Justice.
