A Quezon City court on Tuesday ordered the arrest of Dahlia Guerrero-Pastor, wife of international car racer Ferdinand “Enzo” Pastor who was killed in 2014.
Judge Lita Genilo-Tolentino of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 91 recommended no bail for her temporary liberty.
Dahlia, who was charged with parricide, went into hiding shortly after her husband’s death.
Pastor’s parents, Tomas and Remedios, called on Dahlia to face the charges.
“I have always been requesting her (Dahlia) to surface, and face justice para naman mabigyan niya ng katarungan ang sarili niya at kung naniniwala siya na siya’y nasangkot lang o hindi kasama dito (to give herself justice if she believes that she was merely implicated). This is the time to surface and this is the time to protect herself. If she doesn’t come out, how can she be heard, how can she prove her innocence?” Mrs. Pastor said.
She said Dahlia may still be in the country.
“According to (Justice) Secretary (Leila) de Lima, (Dahlia) has not gone out of the country, there is no manifest that shows that she had fled. But there are rumors that she went out through the backdoor,” Mrs. Pastor added.
Pastor was shot dead on June 12, 2014 at the corner of Congressional and Visayas Avenues in Quezon City. Charged along with Dahlia was businessman Domingo de Guzman 3rd.
The Justice department said although there was no direct evidence showing the duo’s direct participation in the killing, “there is interlocking circumstantial evidence that would point to their complicity in the commission of the crime.”
