FORMER Camarines Norte Gov. Casimiro Padilla Jr., alias Roy Padilla Jr., will be serving the rest of his sentence at Camarines Norte provincial jail over a case in connection with his failure to return a .45-caliber pistol belonging to the Philippine National Police (PNP) in 1992. Padilla has been serving his sentence of up to two years imprisonment as maximum penalty at the National Bilibid Prison, which began on March 21. Associate Justice Efren Dela Cruz of the Sandiganbayan’s First Division signed the commitment order addressed to the Bureau of Corrections. In 2012, the graft court convicted Padilla for malversation and sentenced him to four months up to four years imprisonment with perpetual disqualification from holding public office. He was arrested by PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) last March 18.
