• Cristobal named new DTI chief


    President Benigno Aquino 3rd has appointed Adrian Cristobal Jr. as Secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

    Quoting Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr., Presidential Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said that Aquino signed the appointment of Cristobal as ad interim DTI chief effective December 31, 2015.

    Cristobal, who was appointed DTI undersecretary in August 2010, will replace former secretary Gregory Domingo.

    Coloma said a transmittal letter has been sent to the Commission on Appointments.

    Cristobal obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley, U.S.A. and his Juris Doctor of Laws at the Ateneo de Manila University.

    Domingo resigned as DTI Secretary in September.
