Filipina champion bodybuilder Gemmalyn Crosby encourage fellow countrymen to live a healthy lifestyle during the Philippine Fitness and Wellness Expo on Saturday at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
Fresh from the highly successful sports festival last year, Crosby hosts another jam packed expo that features various sporting events and wellness challenges.
“I want to share with them what I’ve been doing with myself. I am here to promote healthy living and lifestyle,” Crosby told The Manila Times on Saturday.
Crosby said they are aiming to increase and develop awareness in fitness, bodybuilding, martial arts, and wellness among Filipinos.
Beasides health and wellness activities, the expo was also a collaboration of different sports activities in the country.
The event showcased various sports competitions like body building championships, karatedo championships, Filipino martial arts, arnis competition, table tennis, Kings of the Court 3-on-3 challenge, yoga classes and zumba fitness party led by actress Regine Tolentino.
“We are happy since we were able to unite different sports in one place,” said Crosby, who was born and raised in Dipolog City.
Crosby, a Filipino Combat Systems instructor, started with body building in 2012 after giving birth to his first born in 2009.
Since knowing the positive effect of living a healthy lifestyle, the fitness model challenged Filipinos to push themselves to their limits and do exercises daily.
Crosby said that one of the most important things in having a healthy lifestyle is the food intake.
“My advise is to really check the foods that would harm our bodies. We should control our intake as well as refrain from salty foods. What I recommend is to eat vegetables and fruits or chicken. But remember to be cautious every time,” she concluded.
Crosby has won several awards including her IFBB Pro Card by winning her class in the prestigious Arnold Classic Amateur in the US.
