CSC gets new chief


A new chairman for the Civil Service Commission (CSC) has been nominated by President Benigno Aquino 3rd on Tuesday.

Alicia dela Rosa-Bala, according to Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr., was proposed to head the CSC for a term expiring on February 2, 2022.
Bala will replace Francisco Duque 3rd.

Her nomination, Coloma said, has been forwarded to the Commission on Appointments.

Bala was recently deputy secretary general of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
She served as undersecretary at the Department of Social Welfare and Development and has been a Career Executive Service Officer since 1999.

Bala holds a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of the Philippines and a bachelor’s degree also in Social Work from Centro Escolar University.
