Filipino cue master Carlo Biado took the No. 1 spot in the latest rankings released by the World Pool-Billiard Association, a huge leap from his previous 10th place position.
Biado garnered a total of 18,235 points including 8,000 points from his runner-up finish in the 2015 World 10-Ball Championships. He also earned 5,000 in the World 9-Ball Championship; 3,840 in the China Open; 1,095 in the All Japan Championship; and 100 each in the China Ranking Event, Derby City Classic and International Pool Open.
Taiwanese Ko Pin-Yi is in second with 17,575 while erswhile leader Chang Yu Lung also of Taiwan fell to third with 17,475 followed by Darren Appleton of Great Britain (16,130), Neils Feijen of the Netherlands (15,230), Liu Haitao of China (14,895), Shane Van Boening of US (14,800), Albin Ouschan of Austria (14,420), and Filipinos Johann Gonzales Chua (14,330) and Dennis Orcollo (13,975).
The other Filipinos in the list are No. 13 Warren Kiamco (13,350), No. 18 Raymund Faraon (10,550), No. 22 Lee Van Corteza (9,260), No. 27 Elmer Haya (8,200), No. 31 Jeffrey Ignacio (7,350), No. 44 Antonio Gabica (5,700), No. 46 Francisco Bustamante (5,600), No. 48 Ramil Gallego (5,150), No. 53 Jeffrey De Luna (4,695) and No. 72 Efren Reyes (3,600).
