    Social media has influenced almost every aspect of life in this generation, and that of the Filipinos’ is not execption. From the latest fashion trends, to the hippest travel destination, and even to the juiciest gossip around the world, the Internet has proved itself as the most reliable tool for gathering information.

    Nowadays, the World Wide Web has also become a source to finding romance. A scroll down and a click may bring you your happily ever after.

    This is premise of TV5’s newest sitcom Kano Luvs Pinay. Led by top comedienne Tuesday Vargas as Cookie and American actor Lee O’Brien as Matthew, the brings together a single mother and a divorced white guy via a dating website called kanoluvspinay.com.

    An equal mix of romance and comedy, the show will depict the complexities of intercultural relationships between Filipinas and foreigners, with the aim of uncovering the struggles of these women who are generally judged by society to be “after something” in the relationship. Kano Luvs Pinay will also highlight the challenges of both sides when family and cultural differences come into play.

    Also starring in the show are veteran actors Buboy Garovillo and Ces Quesada as Cookie’s overbearing parents. Cookie’s child, Jon Jon, is portrayed by ChokChok Venida; while Starstruck alumnus Martin Escudero, plays the ironic role of Cookie’s brother who hates Americans despite his dreams of being a hip hop artist.

    Completing the colorful cast is model turned actress Wilma Doesnt as Osang, the ever-supportive best friend of Cookie; and theater actress Kiki Baento as Girlie, another best friend who has a strictly no foreigner policy with regards to her love life.

    Helmed by Randolf Longjas, Kano Luvs Pinay will prove to the world that love conquers all and that it is the universal language that knows no grammar, pronunciation, and form.

    The story is based on the 2013 Cine Filipino Film Festival entry Ang Turkey Man ay Pabo Rin, which was also top-billed by Vargas and directed by Longjas.

    Kano Luvs Pinay will air every Saturday evening starting September 5 on TV5.
