PHOENIX: Arizona Diamondbacks all-star left-handed pitcher Patrick Corbin underwent surgery on Tuesday to repair a damaged left elbow ligament, the Major League Baseball team announced. Corbin exited his pre-season game on March 15 with what was called forearm stiffness and an MRI after the game showed ulnar collateral ligament damage, a sign that a tendon replacement operation, known as Tommy John surgery, was needed. Typically, a year is needed to recover from the operation.
