Dagupan City operating on reenacted budget

DAGUPAN CITY: The city government is now operating under a reenacted budget as the City Council failed to approve a new budget during the last days of 2014. This situation may take long as the proposed budget is not listed in the agenda during the first session of the City Council on January 6, said Ryan Ravanzo, secretary of the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP). Those in the agenda are a proposed resolution interposing no objection to the construction of the proposed 7.7-hectare subdivision project of the Sta. Lucia Land Development Corporation in Barangay Bolosan, Dagupan City, and a proposed resolution giving authority to Mayor Belen Fernandez to look for and negotiate the purchase of a lot to be used for socialized housing projects for employees. Nevertheless, Ravanzo said he is preparing the committee report about the committee hearing on the budget conducted by the council’s finance committee. The non-inclusion of the proposed budget in the agenda during the first session of the council disproved the assurance made by Councilor Jeslito Seen, chairman on finance of the City Council, that the budget will be approved during the first regular session.
