IN an interview with The Manila Times at the launch of cable channel Kix’s “R U Tough Enough?” (RUTE) campaign, Pinoy Big Brother champion Daniel Matsunaga admitted that his relationship with actress Erich Gonzales is the best thing that has ever happened to him.
“I’ve been waiting for this relationship for three years now, and I’m very blessed that finally I found the girl of my dreams,” Daniel excitedly confided.
Daniel and Erich have, in fact, just returned from a vacation in Paris and Amsterdam. And from such a romantic getaway, there were speculations that the RUTE ambassador may have even proposed to Erich while in Europe.
“Not yet po. In God’s time, there’s always a perfect timing for everything,” clarified the Filipino-speaking Brazilian-Japanese hottie.
The lovely couple officially announced their relationship on ABS-CBN’s morning show Kris TV in March. It was also on the program where they first met.
Besides obliging to questions on his personal life, Daniel also took the opportunity to explain his newest task as the reality show RUTE’s brand ambassador.
Produced by action entertainment channel Kix, RUTE is a nationwide search for the country’s toughest person. Daniel, together with strongman Moises Torcator, showed just how the hunt will ensue at the launch by pulling a truck loaded with 18 models in a distance of 18 meters.
Asked how he got so tough, Daniel replied, “I’ve worked hard for this body. I started going to the gym since I was 16 and I’ve followed a strict diet to maintain a healthy body.”
The buffed Adonis added with a wink, “But my secret now? It’s Erich.”
Indeed very open and vocal about his feelings for his lady love, Daniel thrilled fans when he guested Erich at his July 11 concert Dreamboys at the Music Museum. Showbiz’ latest couple sang Michael Buble’s “Everything” as a duet in what became one of the most applauded parts of the concert, which also headlined Matteo Guidicelli and JC de Vera.
Not one to shun working with each other as other real life celebrity couples do, Daniel and Erich have also accepted a TV project on ABS-CBN, and will star in an upcoming teleserye titled My Lady.
With so much to look forward to both in his career and personal life, Daniel is convinced he and Erich will keep on going strong.
The Kix reality search will deploy “ToughTroopers” around Metro Manila in search for men and women aged 18 years old and above who are fit to take on the challenge.
