Tres Reyes ARB Credit Cooperative (TRACC) President Jose Laroza said the DAR Quirino, through the Common Service Facilities (CSF) component of the Agrarian Reform Community Connectivity and Economic Support Services (ARCCESS) program, previously awarded the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organization (ARBOs) with farm machinery such as water pumps, rice threshers, mechanical reapers, hand tractors, flat bed dryers and mechanical shredders.

“The facilities are intended to support our farming activities through ARBOs in order to advance and mechanize our agricultural production. The need to properly maintain and operate the machinery led to the facilitation of our training, “ Laroza said.

30 members of various ARBOs joined the training, representing Maddela Integrated Farmers Savings Development Coop (MIFSADECO), Tres Reyes ARB Credit Coop. (TRACC), Villa Pascua Multi-Purpose Coop. (VIPAMCO), Ganano Multi Purpose Coop (MPC), Go Quirinians MPC, and Cajel Irrigators Association (IA).

Rogelio Barroga, Instructor II of QSU-MIT, thoroughly discussed preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting. Topics on regular scheduling of maintenance were presented and a hands-on training ensued after the lecture. The participants were grouped into three to conduct actual troubleshooting on engines. Each group had actively participated with the close supervision of the resource speaker.

ARCCESS is the department’s strategic intervention to improve ARB’s lives through increased production and engagement in agri-based and related enterprises.
