The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) on Thursday announced the distribution of 34 certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs) to agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in La Union.
DAR Region 1 Director Rodolfo Pangilinan said the property, covering 5.3 hectares of agricultural land in Barangay Ortega, Bacnotan, was distributed to 23 ARBs.
The property in the name of Leon Ortega covered by Title No. 13202 (Lot 1-L-1), was acquired by DAR through the Voluntary Land Transfer scheme.
“With the near completion of Land Distribution and Acquisition [LAD] of land reform in this province, the DAR will focus on the delivery of support services to the farmer-beneficiaries through their accredited organizations/cooperatives,” Pangilinan said.
Since the implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program in 1988, DAR-La Union has distributed 18,639.75 hectares.
Pangasinan Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Maria Ana Francisco said the government’s land reform program does not end in distributing agricultural lands.
“It also [delivers]support services to uplift the lives of the farmers in the countryside,” Francisco said.
