THE family of slain advertising executive Kristelle ‘Kae’ Davantes on Friday expressed satisfaction on the way police investigators handle the case.
Vicente Davantes, Kae’s uncle and the family’s spokesman, said that law enforcers who are tasked in solving the case have been conducting consultation meeting everyday.
This, according to Davantes, only shows that they are following up the output of every unit’s task.
“Let us give law enforcement agencies a chance to produce results. They are doing their very best,” he added.
National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo Jr. has formed a special investigating team dubbed as ‘Task Force Davantes’ in order to expedite the resolution of the case.
Davantes also said as part of the on-going investigation, the task force has already asked the victim’s boyfriend and officemates.
He, however, declined to give further details on what were asked to those who were invited to shed light on the case.
Supt. Dario Roxas, chief of police in Silang, Cavite, one of the members of the Task Force Davantes earlier, said they are also looking into personal angles.
The investigators would like to find out if Davantes had quarrels with anyone close to her before she was killed.
Although the family welcomed the said angle, Davantes said they are not aware of anyone holding grudges against the victim.
“She was just a simple lady and fun loving. We do not know that she had enemies,” he added.
He also appealed to the public, who might know the whereabouts of his niece’s missing vehicle, to inform and coordinate with the investigators.
Garbo said they are still searching for the Toyota Altis car, drove by Davantes, which might contain pieces of evidence vital for the resolution of the case.
Davantes likewise thanked the public particularly the netizens for the attention they are giving to their grieving family. RITCHIE A. HORARIO
