Davao Archbishop Romulo Valles is the new president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), the Catholic organization announced on Saturday.

Valles, vice president of the CBCP for four years, will succeed Archbishop Socrates Villeags of Lingayen, Dagupan who steps down this year after serving as head of the CBCP for two terms, the Catholic organization said.
