Day-long power outage hits Biliran province


NAVAL, Biliran: Power was cut off Saturday for 10 hours in the entire Biliran province due to maintenance activities of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).

In a notice, NCGP said power supply for the entire franchise area of the Biliran Electric Cooperative (BILECO) was cut off from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

NGCP’s maintenance works is focused on replacement of rotten wood poles and installation of guys along the Lemon-Biliran transmission lines.

Another cause is the correction of the remaining works on the commissioning of 100 mega volts ampere transformer at Ormoc substations.

BILECO, with administration office in Barangay Caray-Caray, Naval town has 27,977 consumers in 132 villages all over the province. PNA
