Where better to celebrate the coming of 2016 with loved ones than in Hong Kong, which is only about an hour away from Manila by plane. Experience a dazzling countdown to the New Year as the city-state prepares countless celebrations on December 31.
One highlight is the py-romusical at Victoria Harbour, which will light up the city’s iconic skyscrapers. It interweaves pyrotechnics with fireworks, special lighting effects and music.
Feel the spirit of “Love and Joy” as the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and title-sponsor CT Environmental Group Limited, mount a spectacular show, focused around the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, and featuring well over 160 vibrant ‘smiley faces’ and heart shaped patterns symbolizing hope and vitality, and bringing visitors and residents more positive energy.
The anticipated presentation is set to run for approximately 8 minutes and will include various exciting elements from amazing fireworks, pyrotechnics, music, to a light show. Members of the public will also get a chance to “Make a Wish on a Shooting Star” every 15 minutes from 11 p.m. onwards as magical “shooting stars” are launched from rooftops of seven participating buildings on Hong Kong Island.
Families and groups should head over to Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, the Hong Kong Cultural Center Open Piazza, the West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade, New Central Harbourfront, Central Piers 9 and 10 and Bauhinia Square in Wanchai, to enjoy the best vantage points for the magnificent show.
HKTB will provide satellite feed of the entire event for use by television broadcasters worldwide as the clock strikes midnight.
