GENEVA: The death toll from the Ebola outbreak in West Africa has reached 3,865 people, and more than 8,000 people have been infected, the World Health Organization reported on Wednesday.
The worst affected countries are Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia, where 3,857 people have died since the outbreak was declared in December last year. Some 8,011 people have been infected.
The report said the outbreak persisted last week with the situation in these countries worsening, and the disease continue to spread on a large scale. PNA
