THE death toll from the deadly vehicular accident in Marikina City has risen to three as one of the injured victims died while undergoing treatment at a hospital, police said on Friday. Marikina police chief Senior Supt. Vincent Calanoga said Antonio Montenegro Jr., a passenger jeepney barker, died Thursday night while confined at the Amang Rodriguez Medical Center. On Wednesday, the driver of the speeding 10-wheeler truck lost control of the vehicle rammed a passenger jeepney, two L300 vans, and a motorcycle along Bonifacio Avenue in Barangay Barangka, killing instantly two persons while hurting 14 others. Truck driver Fernando Gimera, is now facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in double homicide and multiple physical injuries and damage to property.
