• Decision on Darvish surgery due Wednesday

NEW YORK: Texas Rangers pitcher Yu Darvish has gone to New York for medical advice and a decision on whether he will undergo tendon replacement surgery will be revealed Wednesday. Darvish has a torn ligament in his right elbow and “Tommy John” surgery, where a ligament from another area of the body is transplanted into the arm, is being considered. Thad Levine, assistant general manager for the Rangers, said Monday that the Major League Baseball club would announce their plans in two days regarding Darvish, who flew to New York on Monday for a second opinion on his condition.
