• Decorated combat officer takes over 402 IB


    A DECORATED young combat officer has recently taken over the command of the Philippine Army’s 402nd Infantry Brigade based in Cagayan de Oro City. The Army’s 4th Infantry Division, in a statement issued over the weekend, said that Col. Isidro Purisima had taken over on Thursday morning the command of the 402nd Infantry Brigade from Brigadier General Jonathan Ponce, who is now the Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for the Reservist and Retiree Affairs (J9) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in Camp Aguinaldo. Purisima is a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Sandiwa” Class of 1985 and already spent more than two years in the CARAGA region as Batallion commander of the 30th Infantry. In his message, Purisima vowed to continue his predecessor’s work and to give importance to the peace process.
