Summer World University Games qualifier Alic Deniel Dela Cruz of Capiz Turbo Sharks led the Most Outstanding Swimmer awardees in the 105th Philippine Swimming League (PSL) National Series held at the Villareal Sports Complex in Roxas City, Capiz.
The 17-year-old Dela Cruz garnered 47 points to earn the top honors in the girls’ 15-over division.
Also sharing the spotlight were record-breaker Michael Gabriel Lozada, Marie Joe Borres, Jennuel Booh De Leon and Sidley Rose Malumay, who bagged their respective MOS awards.
Lozada swept all his five events for a perfect score of 50 points in the boys’ 10-year while Borres got 42 points (girls’ 11-year), De Leon scored 44 points (boys’ 11-year) and Malumay had 34 points (girls’ 13-year).
The other MOS winners were Stacey Arabella (girls’ 6-under), Roselle Angela Palma (girls’ 7-year), Kate Zaira Roberto (girls’ 8-year), Jamie Refugio (girls’ 9-year), Althea Joyce Llera (girls’ 10-year), Natazha Lozada (girls’ 12-year) and Atilla Pia Loy (girls’ 14-year) as well as Jozsef Bem Calibjo (boys’ 6-under), Lance Magno (boys’ 7-year), Gian Paolo Gomez (boys’ 8-year), Gregory Miles Sumile (boys’ 9-year), Khraven Brian Villareal (boys’ 12-year), Lance Jiro Tacsagon (boys’ 13-year), Michael Marino (boys’ 14-year) and Lance Joshua Roldan (boys’ 15-over).
Aklan Swimming Team claimed the overall championship crown with 806 points followed by host Capiz Turbo Sharks with 602 points for second and Metro Iloilo Poseidon Swim Club with 465 points for third.
Panaad Swim Club placed fourth (361), Poseidon Swim Club wound up fifth (341) and Assa Villa Mejia Swim Team ended up sixth (79).
PSL will hold its 106th National Series dubbed as the Sen. Nikki Coseteng Swimming Cup on December 10 at the Diliman Preparatory School in Quezon City.
“We are now looking forward to our next competition with the staging of Sen. Nikki Coseteng Swimming Cup on Saturday. It’s open to all regardless of your affiliations. It’s part of our grassroots development program,” said PSL President Susan Papa.
