Along with health and wellness, beauty is one aspect of human existence that people—especially women—will always make time for. Why so? Because it’s important to look good, since looking good is key to feeling good about one’s self, which in return positively impacts relationships and other facets of life.

Businesswoman Joby Lin-sangan-Moreno has always believed in this philosophy, and has therefore dreamed of owning a salon one day. So when the opportunity to open one presented itself in October 2003, Moreno did not hesitate to make an investment, marking the birth of Orange Blush Salon in several areas of Luzon.

“I have always loved the beauty business: Hair, makeup, fashion,” enthused the entrepreneur. “I was always curious on how hair is styled, colored, treated. For me, the beauty business is the closest to my heart and I know that I will do great in a business that is related to beauty.”

Orange Blush Salon offers traditional salon services such as haircutting, treatments, rebonding, straightening, coloring, manicure and pedicure, foot spa and makeup as salons do in the big city. Moreno, however, describes her salon chain as a “proudly probinsyano” brand, what with 20 branches scattered throughout Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Pangasinan, Pampanga and Bulacan, providing a homey kind of feel for customers.

“We take pride in the fact that we come from Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija. Our vision is to put up branches in Central Luzon and become the best hair salon in the area, and then move to conquer Metro Manila with the unique probinsiyano brand that we represent.”

As to why she decided to call her salon Orange Blush, the owner explained, “Orange has always been my favorite color. I am a very optimistic person, and for me, the color orange represents happiness, positivity, and optimism. It’s the color we want people to see and feel when they come to our salons.”

Appropriately, Moreno has also made popular the tagline “Orange is the New Color of Beauty” as she spreads good vibes across Luzon through beauty.
