• Dengue cases up by 50% in Central LUZON

    CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga: The Central Luzon Department of Health (DoH 3) has noted 50 percent increase of dengue cases this year as compared to the same period last years. DoH 3 Dir. Leonita Gorgolon said a total 3,749 cases were reported in different Disease Reporting Units in the region as of March 11, while only 2,500 cases were recorded during the same period last year. About 93 percent were admitted to hospitals. Patients were of varied ages of less than a year to 92 years old. Report from provinces include: Aurora –128 cases (59 last year); Bataan – 739 (353 last year); Bulacan – 592 (577 last year); Nueva Ecija – 537 (225 last year); Pampanga – 1171 cases (818 last year); Tarlac – 418 (338 last year): and Zambales – 164 (130 last year). Deaths recorded were from Pampanga – 4, Bulacan – 1, Nueva Ecija – 1, Bataan – 2.
