ILOILO CITY: The Mines and Geophysical Bureau (MGB) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources has warned residents in the Western Visayas against building their houses in areas with limestone formations.
MGB Regional Director Leo Van Juguan said sub-sur-face assessment or Karst Subsidence and sinkhole mapping conducted last year identified areas with limestone formations such as Buenavista, Guimaras; Passi City in Iloilo and Kabankalan City in Negros Occidental.
