THE Department of Education National Employees’ Union (DepEd-NEU) is supporting the rationalization plan, which aims to reorganize offices to avoid overlapping of functions among offices. DepEd employees’ union president Domingo Alidon defended the rationalization program of the government, saying it would improve the delivery of services from central office down to schools. “The DepEd national employees’ union is not against the rationalization plan, the same is in accordance with the mandate of the department pursuant to Republic Act 9155 including the Kindergarten Law and the Kindergarten to Grade 12 (K-to-12) program. Executive Order 366 has rationalized the functions of DepEd including the kinds of items or positions and number of personnel needed in DepEd,” Alidon said.
